Our baby boy is a year old! Man, time just keeps going faster. Well, I haven't been as good about chronicling Ethan's moments. Everyone always said that would happen with another one and they were right. I did want to take a minute to write down some things about our boy that we don't want to forget. What a gift this little guy has been to our family!
- Weight: 25lbs (80th percentile), Height: 31 3/4in (95th percentile)
- He has 6 teeth and 2 more on the way!
- Ethan is crawling, cruising, and climbing all over the place. He will occasionally stand without his hands-free, but prefers to be holding onto something.
- He LOVES to eat and often hums while he is doing it. We call it his happy hum.
- Unlike his brother, he doesn't have a lot of patience to be sung to before bed. He enjoys music if we are playing and will clap his hands, but doesn't tolerate lullabies when his bed is calling:)
- He is starting to enjoy books more, but his favorites vary with the days. You know more when he doesn't like something as he harshly shooves it out of the way.
- Bathtime is one of his favorite times of the day. He loves to fall backwards, splash around on his back, roll over and repeat. He might do this 20 times during one bath session. I guess we have a waterbug on our hands.
- He tends to not be as affectionate as Sam is, but lately has been doling out lots of hugs to his daddy. He also gave Sam his first kisses.
- He can play quietly and entertain himself better than Sam did at this age, but can also be quite the "momma's boy" if he is moody or teething.
- Ethan is STUBBORN. He will crawl for the electrical cord over and over again and will laugh at me when I tell him "No". I think we are in trouble:)
- He isn't attached to any stuffed animals, but LOVES his blue knit blanket. Looks like it will be a permanent bedtime fixture just like his brothers' is.
- Sam can make him laugh more than any of us. He loves watching his brother or chasing him around the house.
- He really enjoys swinging with Grandpa. While he might not tolerate his parents singing to him, he sure loves the sound of Grandpa's voice.
- He can wave at people and do the signs for "more" and "please", but is often to stubborn to do them when he is supposed to.
- He is an animal lover like his brother and enjoys chasing my parents poor dog "Jake" around the house.
- Ethan is up for a game of peek-a-boo anytime, anywhere.
- He also really enjoys playing outside, climbing the slide, swinging, putting mulch or rocks in this mouth. I think I am going to have 2 explorers on my hands.
Thank you for sharing such wonderful characteristics of Ethan. He is quite his own individual! Love to see how the different personalities develop in the little ones. Looking forward to a great visit at Thanksgiving time and to enjoy those boys! Love to you all, Mamaw
