I can't believe Ethan Michael is 2! He had a really great birthday, and we feel continually overwhelmed by how much our family and friends love our boys. Ethan got his own pair of converse shoes like brother and daddy and he wanted to put them on right away. He also got a "batpat" (backpack) like brother and that has also been a constant companion since we opened it. Here are some things about our Ethan right now:
- He is about 34lbs. Yes...big boy. Haven't taken him to his 2yr checkup yet, but I am sure his height is up there too as he is already in 3T clothes.
- He still carries around his 2 blankets or "bank-banks" as he calls them.
- He loves anything with wheels, especially choo-choos and dum truss (translation: trains and dump trucks). He has to tell me about truck that he sees while we are driving and loves that we pass construction work on the way to take brother to and from school.
- While he still likes to play by himself a lot with the train table or legos, he loves wrestling and "piwwow fwights" with daddy and Sam.
- He is a fan of Elmo.
- He will try to say anything and is much more verbal that Sam was at this age. Sam is always so proud of Ethan for trying to say things:)
- He is still happiest outside swinging, sliding, mowing...you name it.
- If he is trying to get your attention he will cock his head, get right in front of your face and speak loudly at you until you affirm what he wants or what he is saying. This boy knows what he wants and is not afraid to ask for it.
- We often call him "Bruiser" because he is such a rough and tumble guy. Always has a boo boo somewhere but it doesn't slow him down.
- He still loves to read "boops" and is enjoying longer stories than board books. Unlike Sam though who will listen to any story just so he can snuggle in your lap, if Ethan isn't interested, then he will bat the book away or just get up and walk away. Again...he is a guy that knows what he wants.
- He has a temper and can be very stubborn. We started the "twos" pretty early so we are hoping he will grow out of the tantrums sooner than later.
- He loves to make people laugh and often keeps us all smiling. Sam loves to tell funny Ethan stories and is definitely Ethan's biggest fan.
Ethan has always really loved being in his bed. Takes after his daddy on that.
I know I should discourage the thumb sucking but "Linus" sure is cute with his bank-bank and thumb plugged in.
This boy LOVES to swing.
Love your posting Ethans traits & habits. He is adorable. Helps us to know him better. Do try to measure him now as it is always said (officially) that he will grow to be approximately twice his height at 2 yr in the adult years. It was pretty correct with our daughters.
